One friend urgently needs help to continue to live. After two brain surgeries, because of brain tumor, now he needs to attend a special treatment, which costs around EUR 22,000. After all expenses and loans for the surgeries, his family cannot provide the required amount. Please, friends, lets help them to raise the funds and save Igor’s life. Throat Fisting recorded their first album

On 10th July in club The Box, Throat Fisting will promote their first studio album along with the support of the bands Collapso and Seven Ate Nine. You will also be able to buy the CD and other merchandise at the show.

After six years, 700+ shows, several releases, countless tours of North America, Europe, Australia and Asia, Ruiner will be calling it a day in October 2010 (as October 5th is the anniversary of the band’s first show). Vocalist Rob Sullivan commented, “This wasn’t an easy choice to make. All of us started playing in bands when we were in middle school and for the first time in 12-13 years, some of us won’t be having band practice on a weekly basis. But we know this is a choice we needed to make. We always ran this band at 100% and some of us now feel like we don’t have the desire to tour anymore. We aren’t the kind of band who wants to release records and rarely play the music, so we decided it is now an appropriate time to hang it up. We got to see the world a few times over and with that met a lot of incredible people. We will all be forever grateful for that, but we know this decision is the right one to make. I’m sure I could give many more reasons as to why, but the gist of it is if this band can’t be done at full speed, we feel it is better to stop.”

Your Demise are writing stuff for new album

St. Albans hardcore/metal crew Your Demise (Earache Records) are back in the country, currently holed up recording in Reading, UK, working on the follow up to 2009’s critically acclaimed breakthrough album “Ignorance Never Dies.”

The band have been writing in California after months of touring and return to the studio with long time collaborator Jon Mitchell at Outhouse Studios and take a brief break from recording to play this year’s Slam Dunk festival this weekend alongside New Found Glory and Alkaline Trio.

Guitarist Stu Paice notes: “The new songs are a very big progression, the best stuff the band has ever written by far. It’s a big step up in sound - I think the most important thing is that band is 100% proud for the first time for the album we have produced!”

Canadian death metal/hardcore band Despised Icon is apparently breaking up. Formed in 2002, the group has released 4 great albums and 1 DVD so far.The following statement has surfaced on their official site:”The time has come for us to move on. Some of us have recently reached a new chapter in their lives, starting families, buying houses and pursuing other careers to make it all happen. Writing music, touring and leaving home for months at a time is slowly becoming impossible because of that. We all decided that it’d be best to pull the plug now and end things right.”It’s hard to believe we started this band almost 10 years ago already. At first, Despised Icon was mostly just an excuse to hang out, write brutal slam riffs and play local shows once in a while. With your support, we got the opportunity to actually play music for a living, make friends around the world, be MVPs and travel to places we never even dreamed of visiting in our lifetime. Thank you all for some of the best times of our lives.”We’re currently working on setting up our final tours in Canada, USA and Europe. Expect to see us in a town near you sometime before the end of the year. If all goes as planned, we’ll also be touring Australia and Asia for the first time in the fall. We’ll keep you posted on everything. These last shows will be fucking epic! See you guys then!”
